Glossary: the recurring-income model in plain language

The handful of terms we use throughout the site — defined simply, so nothing here is jargon.

Recurring override
A monthly payment you earn on every subscriber to a niche SaaS platform you helped originate — for as long as the platform runs. Unlike commission, it pays in slow months, compounds as the base grows, and can be sold. More →
Brand ambassador
A trusted insider within a niche — a respected member of the guild who endorses the platform to their peers. Their credibility is why members say yes. You introduce them; you don't have to be them.
The Ownership Play
The three-role joint venture at the heart of the model: the platform (CRA) builds and runs the software, the brand ambassador lends credibility, and you — the loan officer — make the introduction and earn the override. More →
Golden Pond
A niche worth building a recurring platform for — fragmented, full of solopreneurs, with no dominant brand and a genuine unmet need. The day you hand us a Golden Pond, recurring income stops being something you chase. See examples →
Linear commission
Income paid once, at the event. No closing, no income. It doesn't compound, doesn't accrue while you sleep, and has no sale value the day you stop — the structural flaw the recurring layer is meant to fix. Compare →
SaaS multiple
The factor by which recurring software revenue is valued when sold — often several times annual recurring revenue. It's why a recurring override is an asset, not just income: $1.2M recurring at a 5× multiple is, illustratively, a $6M asset.
AI Magic intake box
Where you drop a borrower's homeowners file for us to quote with AI, fast enough for closing. The easy first step — and never a deal breaker. More →
Recurring insurance income
Tier one of the model — a recurring share of insurance commission on households you refer, paid every year the policies renew. Conventional, proven, and the "easy yes" before the bigger SaaS override.
